Spafinder announces the worldwide winners of the
Wellness Travel Awards 2016
Spafinder Wellness announced the worldwide winners of the Wellness Travel Awards 2016 (WTA) at a media event at the World Travel Market in London. This award has been being presented to hotels, resorts, destination spas and retreats in 20 categories on six continents and in 41 countries since 2014. This year there were 388 entrants competing in the final round. Guests cast over 130,000 votes for their favourite establishments.
The Stanglwirt won one prestigious national/regional award - "Best in Austria" - and two category awards - "Best Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Property" and "Best for Families"!
The Wellness Travel Award finalists were chosen from 605 establishments by a committee of 39 travel and wellness journalists and experts. Consumers around the world then voted for their favourite hotels in 20 categories. A combination of nominations, statements by the participants and consumer votes were used to select the final winners.
