"Approved Bike Area": With this quality mark from "mountainbike holidays", the Kitzbühel Alps has a head start. The services and infrastructure for bikers are getting better all the time – with the Tyrolean biking region again leading the way.
In summer 2012, two new trails were constructed, adding yet more momentum to the biking and freeriding scene. In addition to the 55 mountain-biking routes that cover a total of 1000 kilometres, there are also freeriding routes in the Kitzbühel Alps which you can reach by cable car.

Longest single trail in Tyrol
With the Wiegalm Trail in the Brixental, the Ehrenbach Trail on the famous Hahnenkamm, the extreme downhill route in Hopfgarten, the super-long Fleckalm Trail and the Lisi Osl Trail in Kirchberg, there are five official freeriding routes in the Kitzbühel Alps biking region.
And soon there'll be a sixth: Not far from the 2.6-km long Lisi Osl Trail, which is named after the 2009 Cross-Country World Champion, the new Gaisberg Trail will be open from late summer. The 2.3-km long trail (500 vertical metres) starts just below the Gaisberg lift with a slope-style track consisting of three to four adjacent technical training sections.
The whole route was designed by professional cyclist and Director of the Bike Academy in Kirchberg, Kurt Exenberger; so too was the longest single trail in Tyrol - the new Fleckalm Trail in Kirchberg. This trail is 7.5 kilometres long and descends on old hiking and forest trails by more than 1000 vertical metres into the valley below.

The Kitzbühel Alps Summer Card
Bikers have an ace in their hand with the Kitzbühel Alps Summer Card. You can use it as often as you like on all 31 summer cable cars in the Kitzbühel Alps - even several times a day (available for 3 days or more). To ensure unlimited downhill fun, there are also downhill biking day passes and hourly tickets for the various mountain cable cars. The motto here is "Drawn up by cable, carried down by bike". The Kitzbühel Alps Summer Card is also part of the three-day short-break package which combines maximum biking fun with accommodation in bike-friendly hotels.
The Kitzbühel Alps is the world's biggest e-biking region, with more than 75 battery charging points between the Hahnenkamm, Hohe Salve and Wilder Kaiser. Thanks to this, bikers with differing levels of fitness can go on tours together, leaving now mountain bikers and e-bikers to battle it out for the title of "King of the Mountains". The Bike Academy in Kirchberg and the Alpn Bike School in Hopfgarten will also help you on your way. The "professional cyclists" there will bring mountain biking beginners, leisure cyclists, bike marathon racers, touring cyclists and freeriders up to speed.
