Rolling Pin Awards 2018

A great honour for our Stanglwirt host Balthasar Hauser. The Tyrolean hotelier and farmer has been recognised for his life's work at the renowned Rolling Pin Awards. This year, the coveted Rolling Pin Awards were handed out for the ninth time. In an online vote, over 9,300 professionals from the hospitality and restaurant industries nominated and voted for their favourites in 14 different categories. This makes the Rolling Pin Awards one of the biggest and most important awards ceremonies in the Austrian hospitality industry. Balthasar Hauser was honoured with a lifetime achievement award "powered by Kröswang".
"It is a great honour for myself, my family and everyone I work with to know that the path we chose to take with the Stanglwirt is deserving of such a prestigious honour," said the 71-year-old, before adding: "My life's work is a long way from being finished yet." Over the past 50 years, Balthasar Hauser and his family, alongside the 280 people who are now employed at the Stanglwirt all year round, have transformed the hotel into one of the biggest names in the European luxury hotel industry. Hauser is also considered an eco-pioneer.

9th edition of the Rolling Pin Awards
Rolling Pin has one of the highest circulations of all gastronomy magazines in German-speaking countries. Since 2010, the magazine has been handing out Rolling Pin Awards to the most innovative, daring and creative professionals and entrepreneurs in the restaurant and hotel industries every year. Hospitality professionals can nominate their personal favourites in the first round. The three people who receive the most nominations in a category make it onto the shortlist, from which the users choose the winner in the second round. This process makes the Rolling Pin Awards some of the fairest and most widely recognised awards in the industry.
